Well the New Year is certainly off and running .. and we are doing our best to keep up. First off a quick note that the Norfolk Island departure is closing for sale soon due to finalization deadlines. If you wish to book a spot please contact us before the 10th January – we have limited spaces available so it is based on first come first serve.
Otherwise we would like to bring to everyones attention out “Classifieds”page in-case you haven’t found your way there. On our Classifieds page we are advertising for travellers whom are seeking companions for specific trips outside of our group tours. So if you are thinking of travelling and would like to meet up with someone we have several already seeking companions for a variety of destinations.
At this stage we have 1 person who was looking for a companion on a Russian River Cruise (whom we have already matched up!) as well as another seeking a companion for travels in the South of France this June, and a third seeking someone to join them for a Round World Cruise in 2015.
Should these destinations not be the ones you are seeking (and should our group departures not meet your requirements) then please let us know what you are seeking and we can add you to our classifieds, or put out a broadcast through our database, to see if we can match you up with someone seeking something similar.

Norfolk Island Tour – Sale Closes 10 January and Tour Date Change
We hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a great New Year,. With less than three months until our departure to Norfolk Island we thought we would post a quick reminder up that we still had a few limited spaces available and that we will be closing the sales window on this tour soon. So if you were looking at joining but haven’t been in touch please let us know immediately! You can review the current tour schedule here!
At this stage we have 6 spaces left for the Norfolk Island Discovery, and we must finalise everything by the 10th January 2014. This Trip highlights the Islands Convict Heritage and gives you free time to explore the aspects of the island you wish to experience – the culture, the walking trails, the sport, the natural features.
We would also like to note that due to flight scheduling the trip will now be departing on the 17th March, not the 16th, and will still be for the same duration.
Discovering Norfolk Island
When people think of the pacific islands they can visit most have thoughts that run to Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, or further afield at the Cook Islands, Samoa or Tahiti. Few tend to think of our more temperate options – Lord Howe Island, or in this case Norfolk Island.
With year round temperate climate, Norfolk has a vast array of things to offer all kinds of travellers. Its natural beauty and wonders allow one to experience anything from walks along the Bushland trails to Glass Bottom Boat trips over their reefs. The early and fairly dark convict heritage is still evident and a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Island. For art lovers there are galleries, museums and more to explore. For those looking for pampering there are spas and wellness centres to experience. For the sportsman there is fishing, horse riding, golf and more. Then there are also the beaches and the water activities. More than enough to see, admire and enjoy.
This fantastic destination is where we are headed for our first group departure with the Shoalhaven Solo Sisters. This March we depart on a seven-day journey to explore Norfolk Island, while we have included some true highlights in our package – we have also left plenty of free time for those that may want to pursue their own desires, be it an art class, a round of golf, or a stroll along one of the Hiking Trails.

We will be restricting the amount of travellers we take, so it will be on a first in best dressed basis. We will also try to match everyone up with an appropriate partner, or if desired we can offer single supplements.

Good Morning! We would like to thank everyone who attended the Shoalhaven Solo Sisters launch events – both the Luncheon, and the evening briefing. We think both went very well, and will be organising a number of social get togethers over the next few months so that potential travellers can begin to meet potential travellers.

A First Look At Our 2014 Group Departures
For our first Introductory programme we will be taking in some fantastic areas and great programmes. In March we head up to Norfolk Island to explore the local Heritage and Culture, June we head to Inland Australia to Explore Lake Eyre and Uluru, in September we head off to explore Hong Kong and its commercial byways, then finally in November we head of for a cruise around New Zealand. On the 21st November, our Intrepid entrepeneurs, Julie and Leonie, will be hosting a luncheon event at the Butterfactory Restaurant, where they will unveil the true meaning and direction behind Shoalhaven Solo Sisters .. a specialist travel initiative for the Solo Tavelling Lady – be they single, or simply a travel addict with a stay at home partner. Leonie and Julie will extol the virtues and possibilities of the product and the direction it will be headed towards as well as our first four exciting group departures launching in 2014
The above entry fee covers a wine or soft drink on arrival, a fantastic lunch consisting of a main meal and dessert and a second beverage*, as well as a tea and coffee buffet.
* Note: The lunch meal consists of an alternate drop of either Char Grilled Sirloin with Garlic Smashed Potatoes, Steamed Greensand Jus or Chermoula Chicken Breast with Preserved Lemon Cous Cous, Pomegranate Molasses and Spinach , followed by dessert which will be the always delightful Butterfactory Tasting Plate. Shoalhaven Solo Sisters Social Sojourns
Who are the Shoalhaven Solo Sisters? What are the Shoalhaven Solo Sisters?
In this day and age, Travel is relatively easy, especially with a Travel Agent. Find a destination, book a tour, book a flight, whatever it is you are seeking and away you go.
If you are a couple, or a small group, this is great. For individual travellers though the story becomes a bit harder. Flights and rail is easy enough but prices you have seen everywhere based per person suddenly double for a solo at worst, or an extra third at best.
Shoalhaven Solo Sisters, is a new initiative for Single Female Travellers. Our aim is to match up solo travellers with like-minded partners to travel with and reduce the individual travellers costs.
For example a Cruise that costs AU$2893 per person in a twin share room would generally cost a single traveller twice as much. By matching you up with other single ladies the individual travel cost is significantly reduced, and you find yourself in (hopefully) good company for your travel arrangements!
Under the guiding hand of Travel Industry veterans Leonie Clay and Julie Preston, we will be developing a programme of events and departures which the solo traveller can join, where we can (if desired), match them up with a like-minded Room-mate for the duration of the trip.
To start with we will be offering a limited number of departures throughout 2014, with more on the horizon for the year after.
