Sunday 24th November 2019:Travel from Sydney to Norfolk Island with Air New Zealand (Works airfare). Airport transfer to accommodation on Arrival. Stay at the South Pacific Resort Hotel Includes full breakfast daily. Tonight enjoy a 2 Course Dinner at the South Pacific Resort Hotel. Monday 25th November: 8.30am – Half Day Island Bus Tour. Orientation tour of the island – visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. 6.00pm – Progressive Dinner : Enjoy a 3 course meal progressing to different Norfolk Island family homes.
Tuesday 26th November: 12.30pm – Two Chimney’s Winery Visit including lunch platter (Pick up at 12.15pm): Welcome and Introductory Talk, Formal Wine Tasting from Premium Wine Range, Noelene’s Exquisite Vineyard Lunch Platter-individual plates (a collection of homemade delicacies), Complimentary glass of Premium Wine 4.45pm – Island Fish Fry: Enjoy a traditional island feast on the clifftop our private property “Orn Daa Cliff” 7.15pm – Sound & Light Show: Nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the convict settlement. The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before mankind arrived in 1788. However, with dramatic use of the real life sounds, theatrical lighting and costumed actors, the stillness is broken as Pinetree Tours take you through the horrifying decades of Norfolk Island’s convict era.
Wednesday 27th November: 9.30am – Christian Brothers Cheese Tour: Christian Brothers Cheese Company is a boutique dairy and Cheese producer started by two island brothers Glen and John Christian. The tour over two hours will take you through a local farm with beautiful ocean views, meet the milk cows, try the milking machine, see beehives and hear about producing the local honey. A quick visit to the local sawmill is an added bonus. The tour travels to Glen’s house where you sample the range of cheeses with tasty condiments and Complementary wine on the verandah with scenic ocean and valley view’s where cheese maker John will give an informative talk. 5.15pm – 2 Course Dinner at Hilli Restaurant
Thursday 28th November: 8.45am – Norfolk Today Tour: We will share with you how we catch our fish, show you how we store our fuel and convert the diesel into power, explain what we do with our waste products including some great recycling stories, demonstrate the role Norfolk plays in worldwide weather monitoring, show you our community radio station and share our favourite watering hole while we relate the island’s significant contributions to the ANZAC tradition. Not only will you go to installations and parts of the island that few tourists ever see, you will meet the locals who make sure all of these daily miracles and services keep happening. This is a real behind the scenes experience that answers so many of the questions that people go home wondering about. 1.00pm – Farm & Industry Tour: Go behind tourism and see a selection of local industries – market gardening, pig farming, manufacturing soft drinks and liqueurs, aquaponics, a state-of-the-art Kentia palm nursery that exports to Europe, a boutique sheep farm. 6.15pm – Ghost Tour & Dinner: Dinner and Lantern Walk. Listen to tales and stories that will delight you, make you sad and through it all, send shivers down your spine! Includes dinner in historic Kingston and a lantern walk through the ruins.
Friday 29th November: 9.30am – Colleen McCullough tour: This is an exclusive guided tour to the author’s magnificent property. You will be escorted through Ric and Colleen’s home and view some of their priceless collections from around the world. You will learn about how Colleen enjoyed her Norfolk paradise and how it inspired her with its rich history and natural beauty. Learn how she gave back to Norfolk and touched many people’s lives. 1.00pm – Convict Settlement Tour: Join us on an ‘In Depth’ tour of the historic Georgian settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery & hear the history of the interesting convict & colonial headstones, hear stories of the houses along Quality Row. Walk through the ruins of the New Gaol, see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill. Afternoon tea included. 5.45pm – Night as a Convict Dinner: Dress as a convict and join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing and dancing. ($30 refundable bond required for the convict costumes).
Saturday 30th November: 1.00pm – Island Culture Tour: Experience the culture of our forebears! On this tour see a demonstration using Norfolk timber, visit Island homes for a talk on our cooking & a lecture about the Norfolk Island language. An example of Island waving will be given after our afternoon tea break. 5.45pm – 2 Course Dinner at Dino’s Restaurant
Sunday 1st December 2019: 10.00am – Cyclorama: Enjoy the incredible experience of the Cyclorama….the stunning and realistic 360° artwork which is constantly impressing visitors. Discover how the world’s most famous mutiny created the Pitcairn and Norfolk communities. Airport Transfer Passengers will be transferred by Pinetree Tours to the airport for their flight home.
